Palestinian and Syrian Passports Classified as Weakest in the World

The Syrian and Palestinian passports have been ranked by Henley Passport as the weakest passports during the first quarter of 2022.

The Syrian passport is ranked 109th globally. Only 29 countries allow the entry of Syrians without visas. 

The Palestinian passport is ranked 105th globally. Palestinians without visas are only allowed to enter 35 countries, including Sri Lanka, Dominica, Singapore, and the Seychelles. Holders of Palestinian passports should receive a visa to enter 194 countries. 

The weakest five passports are the Iraqi (110th), Syrian (109th), Yemeni (107th), Somali (106th), and Palestinian (105th). 

The Henley Passport Index is the original, authoritative ranking of all the world’s passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. The index is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) – the largest, most accurate travel information database – and enhanced by Henley & Partners’ research team.
