Palestinian refugee Zaydan Ahmad Zaydan, born in 1974 and raised in AlNeirab Camp, in the northern Syrian province of Aleppo, was arrested by Syrian security forces on March 15, 2022 over claims of name resemblance.
Local sources said a name mix-up occurred as security forces were chasing a suspect with a similar name.
On April 12, Palestinian refugee Abdo AlBash, born in 1974, was also arrested over allegations of assisting young men seeking to illegally leave the war-torn country. The charges were however denied by the residents who said the refugee has been known for his discipline.
