Palestinian writer and researcher Faisal Hourani passed away, on Thursday, in Geneva at the age of 83.
The Palestinian Authority paid a heartfelt tribute to the intellectual leader, stressing that Palestine lost one of its great thinkers.
Through his writings and research, Hourani actively contributed to the national liberation struggle of the Palestinian people.
The writer was born in 1930 in the village of Masmiya, near Gaza, before he moved with his family to Syria in 1948, where he pursued his education.
He issued many books and studies, including “Palestinian political thought from 1964 to 1974“, “Joint Arab action, Israel: rejection & acceptance” and “The roots of Palestinian rejection“.
Moreover, he wrote “Trapped” in 1973, “Bear Shum” in 1979, and “Stingray” in 1984, in addition to his codification of his autobiography in five parts entitled “Paths of Exile“.
