The Syria Response Coordinators group said so far fires broke out in 82 tent camps out of 112 set up for displaced families in northern Syria. A number of deaths and injuries were also reported.
The group said civilians’ lives are at risk as weather temperatures have skyrocketed in a region where the majority of tents are not fire-resistant.
The group called on the international humanitarian organizations to provide firefighting equipment in the area and increase water supplies in over 590 displacement camps in northern Syria.
Over 250 Palestinian refugee families have been sheltered in poorly-equipped tents set up north of Syria, where the humanitarian situation has been dire.
