Palestinian Refugee Sa’id Ahmad Anis, aged 50, tragically died in a waste lab in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon.
A statement by the Domestic Solid Waste Treatment Centre, located in the southern outskirts of Sidon, was clearing dust from a fermentation digester when dirt mounds collapsed. Sai’d slid away but fell to the ground soon after. His face was hit with an iron pipe. He was rushed to Hamoud University Hospital, where he breathed his last.
Eye-witnesses said Sai’d did not fell on the ground, as the administration claimed, but choked to death under trash mounds after a giant truck dumped its waste near Said’s work post.
Sai’d fled AlNeirab Camp for Palestinian refugees, in Aleppo, north of Syria, to Lebanon, where he risked his life to earn a living.
