The Turkish authorities seized the passport and the kimlik temporary protection card along with the work permit of Palestinian refugee Nour AlDeen Abu Seyam, who was displaced from Syria.
Abu Seyam said he has been left without travel documents since mid-June and denied access out of the Turkish territories. He risks to be deported to Syria in mid-August.
Abu Seyam, who fled Yarmouk Camp, south of Damascus, to Turkey, said Turkish police detained him in Istanbul and took away his travel documents on claims that he does not hold an inter-state movement permit.
Turkish police transferred the refugee to a deportation centre and seized his Palestinian passport and work permit. He was also stripped off from all of his personal belongings, including his mobile phone.
The refugee appealed to the Palestinian Embassy to take urgent action and pressurize the Turkish authorities to hand him back his travel documents.
