Palestinian Refugees Subjected to Human Rights Abuses in Greek Migrant Camp

Palestinian refugees and other migrants sheltered in a migrant camp set up on the Greek island of Kos have been subjected to a dire humanitarian situation.

Living conditions are abject in the substandard migrant facility, where caravans are vastly overcrowded, unhygienic and violence-prone.

Migrants are denied access out of and into the area as the camp is engulfed by barbed wire from all sides.

Over recent years, Greece’s refugee camps have been running at four or five times their capacities, with tens of thousands of migrants crammed into poorly-equipped tents.

Palestinian refugees from Syria continue to risk their lives onboard the “death boats” to Greece. Activists estimate that around 4,000 Palestinian refugees from Syria are taking shelter on Greek islands.
