Palestinian Refugee Woman Rescued off Aegean Sea

Greek coast guard rescued a total of four illegal Palestinian migrants at sea, south of Samos island in the East Aegean.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said police located and rescued four migrants who told authorities they were onboard an inflatable dinghy before it capsized on October 31.

The migrants are Mohamed Masoud, Husain Sarjoun, Ahmed Achour, and Fatma Qweidar, residents of AlMaghareba neighborhood, in Yarmouk Camp for Palestinian refugees, in Damascus.

The Turkish authorities informed the Ministry that a man—identified as Mohamed Qweidar (Fatma’s father)—was found dead at sea. The body was transferred to the Forensic Medicine Foundation in Izmir and buried sometime later.
