AlRaml Refugee Camp Swamped with Rainfalls

Displaced Palestinian families in AlRaml refugee camp, in Latakia, have voiced deep concern over the upshots of the heavy rains that swamped residential neighborhoods.

The area is already overburdened by poor infrastructure and hackneyed sanitation networks.

Pictures and videos circulated on social media show dozens of homes and residential alleyways as being swamped by rain deluges and wastewater.

Speaking with AGPS, a resident said local authorities have turned deaf ears to civilians’ frequent appeals to work on enhancing infrastructure and repairing sanitation networks.

Latakia is home to the Palestinian refugee camp of AlRaml, where the humanitarian situation has already been marred by multiple hardships owing to the poor infrastructure, absence of vital services, and price inflation.

After more than twelve years of conflict, Palestine refugees continue to be one of the most vulnerable groups in Syria with immense humanitarian needs. Hundreds of displaced Palestinian families continue to launch cries for help as a freezing winter season has enveloped the region.
