Residents of Khan Dannon Camp Complain of Living Crises and Basic Services Absent

In Khan Dannon camp in Damascus Suburb, residents are suffering from miserable living conditions due to the lack of basic services, where they are suffering from power cuts for long hours up to 23 hours per day.

The residents of the camp are also suffering from the widespread of unemployment due to the security tensions in the surroundings, and the poor economic situation in the country in general which increases the onerous costs for residents.

As a result, many youth of the camp were forced to work with the pro-Syrian regime armed groups to gain money.

Khan Dannon residents are also suffering from practices of Syrian army checkpoint and the Palestinian groups loyal to it.

These practices include theft and public looting in spite of the large number of youth voluntary in different groups loyal to the Syrian regime. In addition, they suffer of a state of instability and uncertainty of unknown fate because of the rising hostilities in the regions and adjacent towns between the Syrian opposition forces and the Regular Army.

Moreover, some residents are belonging to the Popular Front (General Command) and Fatah al-Intifada in the fighting alongside the regular army making the camp vulnerable to shelling and the fall of a number of shells into different parts of it leading to many victims and wounded.
