A number of activists and the family of "Ibrahim Abu Kharij," a Palestinian Syrian refugee from Yarmouk, appealed international organizations and Palestinian institutions in order to work for his release after being detained in a Malaysia Airport. They also called for the need to move before being deported to Syria, what constitutes danger to his life.
Dozens of Palestinian Syrian refugees suffer from difficulty of obtaining legal residency in Malaysia, due to the tightening of laws relating to the Malaysian residencies, making most of them vulnerable to detention by the authorities there.
