Residents of Khan Al Shieh Camp Complain of Weak Potentials and Low Medical Services

Residents of Khan Al Shieh camp in Damascus suburb suffer of low medical potential and services, which does not cover all families which count 2,000.

The AGPS correspondent reported that: "There are two health centers, one of UNRWA and the other of the Syrian government and both lack equipments, medicines, and doctors, while there only five pharmacies only to serve all families. Those pharmacies lack to most drugs, in addition to high prices due to the recent increase in the prices of medicines by the Syrian regime by 50%, as there is one dentist, and Female doctor treating all cases.

The camp lacks to medical points or field hospital for emergency where residents have to get treatment out of the camp, note that the Syrian regime arrested a resident after leaving the camp or treatment, while his fate in unknown yet.

It is noteworthy that the regular army checkpoints continue closing all connecting roads between the camp and the center of the capital Damascus, forcing people to take the dangerous sub-road (Khan Al Shieh - Zakya) to get to Damascus, where they are targeting the road frequently with shells and heavy machine guns. The AGPS documented 141 victims mostly died by shelling.
