Residents of Yarmouk Sit-in and Demand to Lift the Siege

Dozens of residents from the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp in Damascus participated in a sit-in protest in which they demanded the Syrian army and PFGC groups to lift the siege imposed on them for more than 881 days. The siege resulted in a humanitarian catastrophe due to the loss of all food, medicines, and fuel, while the protestors expressed discontent regarding the ignorance of the PLO and the Palestinian factions to the fate of the rest of population inside.

In the meantime, checkpoints of the regular army and PFGC groups allowed the elderly Palestinian "Metleq Mawed" to get out of the besieged camp of Yarmouk in order to receive treatment in a Damascus hospital yesterday. It is worth mentioning that the camp is suffering from extremely dire health conditions due to the loss of medical supplies and first aid materials, in addition to the power outages and the destruction of most hospitals because of the repeated bombing during the past periods.
