In the south of Syria, the "Palestine Charity Association" has distributed olive dreg to to be used as heating fuel to 400 displaced families in some towns to south of Syria (Mzierieb, Jillin, Jillin Ajami Housing, Tsiel, AinZakar), this material, which consists of the grinded seeds and leaves and any other remains of olives after being squeezed, is considered to be one the affordable quick-flammable materials which can be used easily in firewood stoves or fireplaces which became quite common in Syria due to the lack of fuel.
