The UNRWA has announced, in a press release today, its intention to provide cash and in-kind support for winter season to the Palestinian-Syrians in Lebanon. The aid funded by the ICRC and OXFAM international and the USA will cover all the families entitled to get the food aid, declaring that the aid will be paid in two equal payments via ATM cards and will cover four months.
The UNRWA mentioned that it will pay $588 to the families which are living in areas of (500 m) height above sea level, while families living in areas which do not exceed the (500 m) height above sea level will get the amount of $400 only.
Regarding the in-kind assistance; it will include winter clothing provided by the Qatari Crescent and Uniqlo Company through the Japanese Campaign for the Children of Palestine.
The UNRWA indicated that it will provide the first batch of winter assistance in the 16th of December, in addition to the food aid of $27 per person, and the second installment will be provided in January 2016.
