Drowning of 9 immigrants off the Turkish coasts while trying to reach Greece.

In Turkey, 9 immigrants died yesterday in a sinking incident off the coasts of Turkish Izmir City where their wooden boat drowned while trying to reach Greece. Anadolu Agency assured that the inspecting and searching teams of Turkish Coastguards have launched operations in that specific area after being notified about the incident, mentioning that they managed to rescue 21 immigrants and still searching for 11 others.

The Agency added that a ping team has been sent to the area as the survivors reported many other fellows trapped inside the closed section of the wooden boat.

It is noteworthy that the Aegean Sea is witnessing many similar incidents recently which caused the death of tens and hundreds due to the high level of waves and high speed wind and the weakness of immigrants' boats which are not able to withstand such extreme weather conditions.
