Despite its Risks and High Costs; Increasing Migration Rates amongst Palestinian-Syrians

The Palestinian-Syrian youth and families are still migrating from under-regime's control areas towards Turkey and European countries due to the harsh living and security conditions. The AGPS' correspondents reported that migration occurs on a daily basis despite the tightened fist of Syrian Security and the strains put on travel roads toward the Turkish borders.

In Turkey, hundreds of Palestinian-Syrians are still waiting for a chance to ride the Aegean Sea towards Greece to reach Western Europe countries after that.

The major reasons behind this migration, according to activists, are the security persecution the youth are exposed to, and the strains put on movement freedom and the fears of arrest, added to the fears of obliging the youth to join the military service with PLA. All that reasons pushed people to migrate and look after better chances of education and work abroad.

The continuation of the war and targeting the camps with missiles and shelling, as well as the importance of some camps' geographic locations such as Al-Nayrab camp grabbed the attention and the focus of the Regime and the opposition forces as well, and caused an endless attempts to impose control over it, and caused also a constant state of worry amongst the civilians.

The cost of transportation from the Regime's areas to opposition's areas has been doubled, for example, the cost of transportation from Al-Nayrab camp towards the last Regime's checkpoint could reach SYP 500,000 which equals $1,400 for a family, and about SYP 200,000 which equals $600 for the inpiduals. The agreement should be done with the pro-regime groups inside the camp, which in turn will drive the migrants to the last checkpoint of the regime's army, to start another suffering trip of crossing the Turkish borders.

It is noteworthy that 100,000 Palestinian-Syrians had already left Syria towards Turkey and Europe, while other thousands are still waiting the chance to flee.
