The Lebanese General Security extends the deadline given to Palestinian-Syrians to renew their residence permits.

Published : 01-01-2016

The Lebanese General Security extends the deadline given to Palestinian-Syrians to renew their residence permits.

In Lebanon; the Lebanese Directorate of General Security extended renewing residency permits deadline for Palestinian-Syrian refugees up to 13.3.2016, the directorate said on its website that the renewal will continue to be free of charge and without Correction Fees even if their stay exceeded a year.

It is scheduled to settle the Palestinian-Syrian refugees' legal status for those who are in Lebanon since before the war in Syria, to leave without giving "prevention of entry" according to the Lebanese General Security.

The Lebanese Security has launched a campaign of arbitrary arrests affected dozens of Palestinian-Syrians under the pretext of not-holding residence permits, knowing that their papers and personal identities exist in the security branches under process with no receipts to show when needed.

The estimated number of Palestinian refugees displaced from Syria is about 45,000 refugees who suffer difficult economic conditions after reducing the UNRWA's aid.
