UNRWA stops its aid provided to displaced families in Abnaa Al-Shuahaa school in Damascus Suburb.

The UNRWA has suspended its aid services provided to Palestinian refugees who were displaced from their camps and lived in Abnaa Al-Shuhadaa School in Adra City in Damascus Suburb under the pretext of lack of funding.

Many displaced people of Al-Yarmouk camp in the school assured that UNRWA stopped providing aid consisting of food parcels and a hygiene parcel monthly, in addition to some materials for children, with full knowledge of those in charge of UNRWA that most of the shelter's families are completely dependent on that specific aid.

Activists described the decision as "a bullet in the chest" especially in absence of means of employment and income, and in the cold winter season and the difficulty of transportation to and from the region.

Hundreds of Palestinian refugees who came out of the Yarmouk refugee camp after being hit, fled to the "Alliance" Institute at Damascus. However, Syrian security forces pushed them out of the institute by force and made them go to the "Abnaa Al-Shuhadaa" school in the city of Adra in Damascus Suburb, where they were greeted in the affiliate of the PLO school, and then the UNRWA provided them servicing.

It is noteworthy that Abnaa AAlshuhadaa School was the home of about 800 people displaced from the Yarmouk refugee camp, but the shelling and the fall of missiles during clashes between the parties to the conflict led to a significant reduce in their numbers to about 400 refugees.
