From Siege to Asylum; a Palestinian Youngster Entreats the Relief Foundations to Help him Treat his Eyes

The Palestinian refugee "Firas Dawood" who suffers German Measles, which cost him his normal sight sense, has entreated agencies of humanitarian affairs and human rights organizations and medical sector members to speed up the treatment of his eyes in Germany.

Firas is suffering from problems in his eyes require several operations, and has a weakness in the heart muscle, Firas said that "the right eye is very sensitive to sun light, while the left one got one minus degree of weakness which requires him to put eyeglasses".

Dawood stressed on "the need for immediate treatment of his eyes specifically, and that any delay in treatment would decreases the success chances of future surgeries needed to his case, also stressed his need for a person to accompany him to the hospital saying "I do not see well".

Firas Dawood was displaced from the Al-Yarmouk refugee camp after great suffering during the siege, which worsened his condition by the lack of medicine and food, and then the hazardous journey to reach Greece, where he survived from sinking in the first attempt and succeeded in the second attempt to cross the Aegean Sea between Turkey and Greece.

According to activists, Firas' case is deteriorating, stressing his need for long-term indication to alleviate the bad condition, and transplants of stem cells.
