Palestinian refugees launch a campaign in solidarity with Syrians besieged in Madaya

Palestinian Activists have been launched a social media campaign on Facebook and Twitter in solidarity with residents of besieged town of Madaya. The town is under horrific siege imposed by Assad regime and Hezbollah militias. According to activists, the campaign started on Wednesday 6th January using the Arabic hashtag #مضايا_أخت_اليرموك which means: Madaya is the sister of Yarmouk Camp.

The International media and human rights organizations said at least 23 people from Madaya starved to death last month. The sources added that most of the victims are children, infants and elderly people. It is mentioned that the sharp lack of milk and basic medicine is the main reason of the infants' death.

Last year, AGPS documented 184 Palestinian as victims of starvation in the ongoing siege of Yarmouk camp due to the tight control by Syrian security and Palestinian forces of PFLP-GC on the camp since 918 day.
