In Greece, 42 immigrants from Syria died in two drowning incidents in the Aegean Sea while trying to arrive to the Greek islands on their way to Western Europe countries.
The first incident took place off Kalymnos' Island coast, 34 immigrants died including 11 children after their boat flipped over in water, while 8 others died in the second incident close to Farmakonisi Island. 26 immigrants were rescued, according to rescue teams which mentioned that around 100 migrants were onboard and the rescue operations did not stop yet in order to find more survivors.
