Activists Warn Families of PS Arrestees from Scams and Blackmail Incidents

Activists strongly warned the families of Palestinian-Syrian detainees in prisons, of scams and possible blackmail incidents carried out by mediators and lawyers for revealing the fate or place of detention of their family members.

Many families were subjected to frauds and blackmailing, activists confirm, asked for huge amounts of money for false promises of release, amounts could be from $2,000 up to $20,000 for each case, depending on the nature of charges of the arrestee.

It is noteworthy that the AGPS managed to document 1048 PS detainees unaccounted for in prisons of Assad's regime, and 431 others were tortured to death in such places.
