Italy donates € 1 million to support Palestinian refugees from Syria.

UNRWA announced that Italy has donated € 1 Million ($1.09 M) to support Palestinian refugees in Syria. The agency said; the funding comes with the struggling of Palestinians in Syria to cope with the severest humanitarian crisis they experienced in decades, and as a part of assistance provided in response to crisis of Al-Yarmouk in April 2015.

The press release, published on the website, explained that this donation enabled UNRWA to provide assistance to (33,708) refugees from Palestine through (8,427) food packages, in addition to (4,500) hygiene kits. The assistance, included preservatives, aiming to enable Palestinian refugees to secure their daily living needs, press release mentioned.

The assistance distributed in (15) points all over the country. (10) in Damascus and (1) each in Aleppo, Dara'a, Hama, Homs and Latakia. These points allow UNRWA to reach all Palestinian refugees inside Syria, who are nearly (450,000), according to UNRAW.
