The United States donates $47.7 Million for UNRWA dedicated for the Palestinians of Syria.

Relief and Works Agency of Palestinian refugees UNRWA announced receiving financial support worth $47.7 Million Dollars from the United States, in favor of Palestinian refugees in Syria.

"UNRWA" announced in a statement posted on its website, that $37.5 Million of the donation, will be allocated to support the emergency response activities of the Agency in Syria, where "The estimated number of Palestinian refugees who are still living there is about 450 thousand refugees".

The International Agency explained that more than 60 percent of the Palestinian refugees in Syria have become displaced within Syria, its estimated that about 95 percent of them depend on UNRWA’s humanitarian aid.

it pointed out that it will allocate $10.2 Million for what it called as "emergency interventions" of the Agency in Lebanon and Jordan, noting that "the vast majority of Palestine refugees from Syria who are in Lebanon and Jordan live a precarious and marginalized existence and unable to regulate their legal status or access to civil registration procedures and basic social services".

"UNRWA" states that it is seeking to obtain $414 million in order to meet the minimum humanitarian needs of the Palestine refugees affected by the conflict in Syria during 2016.
