In Damascus, where residents of Hittin Compund live in devastating living conditions because of the war. However, the compound residents managed to neutralize their area from complete engagement in war hostilities.
Beginning of the year 2013, situation became more dangerous in the Hittin Compound as it was exposed to shelling and sniping works as a result of its geographic position located between the regime’s positions of “Services Compound” connected to pro-regime neighborhood of “Bayader Nader” and the “Scientific Researches Hill” from western side as well as the “Ishel Warwar” area. While from eastern side, the compound is connected to “Barza Al-Balad” neighborhoods which is considered the opposition’s stronghold.
The peak of crisis was on April 2013 when the compound was completely evacuated from civilians due to the clashes and sniping, but afterwards, residents had the chance to return back gradually following the truce agreed upon between the two parties of conflict.
