As part of the new Turkish-European agreement, the Turkish Coast Guard has stopped immigrants’ boats in the Aegean Sea carrying tens of refugees who were heading to Greece.
The Coast Guard confirmed that most of the immigrants were Syrians and Palestinians, in addition to few Somalis and Yemenis.
Those procedures come as part of the Turkish commitments regarding the new agreement with the European Union which will come into effect very soon.
Arabic media sources mentioned that Turkish Coast Guard had stopped, last month, around three thousand migrants were trying to arrive in Lesbos Greek Island.
