Families trapped at the Turkish borders appeal to let them in.

In Turkey, number of the Palestinian families trapped at the Turkish-Syrian borders appealed, through the AGPS, to help them enter Turkey peacefully.

The families addressed the Palestinian Embassy in Ankara and the United Nations’ High Commission for refugees to intervene with the Turkish authorities since they cannot return back to their camps and pass the regime’s checkpoints, which persecute and arrest everyone travelled to Turkey for ‘treason’.

Activists confirmed that the regime’s troops had arrested tens of Palestinians returning from or travelling to opposition’s regions, except those who pay bribes and loyalties to the smuggling gangs dealing with the regime’s checkpoints.

All the above mentioned reasons pushed the Palestinian families to prefer waiting in front of the closed borders than to risk their lives and return back to the camps.

According to eyewitnesses; the families are crowded at the smugglers’ house, paying for everything from their remaining money which they collected and dedicated for the transportation. They have tried and failed to cross the borders more than once as the Turkish border guards are at high alert.

Given the current circumstances, the PRS families demand for a safe passage to arrive to Turkey where they can find secure place to live.
