Big numbers of rats spread in the streets of Al Husayneyya camp, And forms a big threat to the lives of the residents.

In Damascus Suburb, big numbers of rats were spread out in the streets of Al Husayneyya camp in Damascus Suburb which forms a big threat to the lives of the residents through the spread of diseases that will increase their suffering. Many residents said that the causes of rats are the garbage in the streets and the destroyed houses and the musicality and the concerned parties are late in providing services and cleaning the streets which created a good environment for rats to spread.

Activists warned form the spread of insects and diseases such as plague due to the accumulation of garbage. They also demanded the governorate and the municipalities to find a solution for this problem and secure the poison to kill rats and to clean the garbage without being late in order to stop the spread of diseases and causes such as rats specially that summer is coming and the high temperature.

On his turn, a resident of Al Husayneyya camp reported to AGPS the news of an old woman that was exposed to a rat bite and was transferred to a hospital to get treatment.

Al Husayneyya camp witnessed bombing with Meg Warplanes that led to victims and wounded and material damages to houses as happened in 17/1/2013 when the warplanes targeted civilians and caused a massacre. The camp witnessed violent battles between the Regular Army beside its loyal factions and the Opposition before they completely controlled the camp in 9/10/2013.
