A number of Palestinian refugees in southern Syria accused UNRWA in the city of Deraa of helping the Syrian security forces to arrest the Palestinian refugees, especially from the people of Deraa camp and Muzeireeb, after the rejection of UNRWA to delivered the granted financial aid for some Palestinian refugees and then request them to head to the security branches in Damascus, to be arrested there.
Our correspondent in Daraa confirmed that a large number of Palestinian refugees refused to receive financial and food provided by UNRWA and PLO for fear of being arrested by the Syrian security forces. The Palestine Liberation Organization distributed financial aid last year with the presence of the Syrian security members, and required the presence of the father in order to receive aid, where a large number of refugees were subjected to security check and prosecute, whether they were wanted for the Syrian security or compulsorily recruited into the Palestinian Liberation Army, loyal to the Syrian regime.
People of Deraa and Muzareeb camps are complaining of complete absence of any helps or attempts to stop being targeted by the UNRWA or the PLO, noting that the Syrian regime cut off water from Deraa for 750 Days, and continues bombing Muzareeb compound, leaving victims. The AGPS documented 330 victims of Palestinian refugees in Daraa province who died since the start of war events.
