Save the Children Organization: Thousands of Children Besieged at Khan Al Shieh Camp in Damascus Suburb

The Independent Newspaper quoted the Save the Children Organization for Humanitarian Aid, saying that thousands of children are trapped in the Palestinian refugee camp of Khan Al Shieh area near Damascus and subjected to shelling by explosive barrels and heavy artillery several days ago.

The Organization added that 3000 children out of 12,000 Syrian citizens face an escalating humanitarian crisis at Khan Al Shieh area besieged by the Syrian regime forces from all sides in addition to the closing of the last roads leading to the area with artillery shells and snipers.

Sonia Khush, head of Save the Children’s Syria program, said: “Despite the supposed ceasefire across the country, people are living in terror of siege and bombardment. People in Khan Al Shieh tell us that most medicine, fuel and flour has almost run out, and food prices have doubled in the past few days.
