The Commissioner-General of UNRWA, Pierre Krähenbühl, paid a visit to Syria on 11-12 of May in order to check the conditions of the Palestinian refugees, and to meet the employees of UNRWA, in addition to a number of Governmental Syrian officials.
The Commissioner-General of UNRWA organized a field tour that included Al Sayeda Zainab camp and YAlda area which is inhabited with hundreds of Palestinian families who were displaced from the Yarmouk camp. He met with a number of refugees who told him about their suffering due to the ongoing war in Syria and their displacement from their houses and camps.
They demanded him to put pressure on all concerned parties to allow them return to their houses, as they stressed the need for UNRWA to continue supporting the Palestinian refugees and not to decrease its services.
During his meeting with a number of Syrian officials and the Director General of the General Authority for Palestinian Arab Refugees, Ali Mustafa, the Commissioner-General of UNRWA, "Pierre Krenpol", called to take action in order to strengthen the protection of Palestine refugees in order to enable UNRWA to reach refugees who are in need for help.
