Aggravated Humanitarian Crisis at Al Wafedein Camp in Damascus Suburb

The Palestinian refugees at Al Wafedein camp in Damascus suburb are suffering of cruel living conditions even before the war starts in Syria, due to the unemployment spread and the scarcity of financial resources. They also suffer of bad security situation and a state of permanent anxiety due to the armed opposition shells that targeted their camp and resulted in victims and injuries.

It is worth mentioning that Al Wafedein camp is located at the Northern entrance of Damascus city at the highway between Damascus and Homs. The camp is 20kg far from the capital Damascus; bounded on the north by the highway, from the south-east Adra prison, on the south bounded by Doma city, on the west bounded by Al Iskan suburb. The camp consists organizationally of three neighborhoods Jolan, Tashreen, and Al Thawra.

The camp is administratively follows Quneitra governorate, and was officially named (Batiha town for displaced people), and a population of about 53 thousand people, and the majority of its population displaced from the occupied Golan.
