AGPS: UNRWA is Required to Find Practical Steps for Protecting the Palestinian Refugees

Head of Research Department at the AGPS, Ibrahim Ali, demanded the UNRWA to find practical steps in order to protect the Palestinian refugees in Syria, to support them with the needed relief materials, and not just issuing condemnation and denunciation statements."

The UNRWA issued a statement yesterday expressed a deep concern about targeting the  Palestinian refugees in Syria in light of the ongoing armed conflict in the country, as it condemned the escalation of "armed conflict" in Syria, which has led in recent days to the killing of Palestinian refugees.

Ali pointed out that UNRWA statement follow-up the recent events that led to the killing and injuring a number of Palestinians, as no data were provided recently for many bloody events that took place against the Palestinian refugees, despite the weak impact of these data.

Al-Ali noted that UNRWA has limited its work to provide some aid to refugees outside the camps and compounds that they inhabit, where refugees are forced to get out of areas where they may be subjected to death, arrest, or theft in order to obtain the UNRWA's aid.
