Demonstrations of 'Detainees First' Launched in European Cities in Participation of Activists and Released Palestinian Syrian Detainees

Under the slogan of "Detainees First," demonstrations were implemented in the French capital "Paris and a number of European cities. The demonstrations shed light the issue of detainees in the prisons of the Syrian regime, and were launched in Paris from Place de la Bastille up to the Republic Square "Riboblak." 

Demonstrators raise pictures of thousand martyrs and detainees in the Syrian regime's prisons, including pictures of Palestinian refugees who have died due to torture, and others who are still in the regime's prisons for years.  Organizers of the demonstration designed metal cubic in the form of a cell, as they marched inside in the streets of the French capital to draw attention to the issue of detainees in prisons the Syrian regime.

Similar demonstrations were implemented in several European cities, most important is Lyon, France, Munich and Colin in Germany, and Swedish Kalmar, during which participants raise banners and pictures of detainees.

organizers of the event expressed fear that the file of the detainees and the process of their release is subject to political blackmail, in particular, with an attempt to manipulate them within the political deals among the conflict parties.

 the organizers said, "We do not speak about all prisoners, including women and children deprived of their liberty, but for thousands of missing and abductees who are unaccounted for, and thousands of detainees abandoned to die of starvation or disease or under systematic torture, what falls under the heading of crimes against humanity in accordance with Article VII of the Charter of Rome in 1998."
