Residents of Husseneia Camp Complain of Poor Infrastructure

In Damascus suburb, residents of Husseneia camp appealed all responsible for camp services to solve the drainage problems which worsened dramatically in recent times because of the failure of the provinces and municipalities to carry their duties. Residents of the camp are suffering from an accumulation of garbage and rubble that resulted from shelling in several streets of the camp, which has led to the spread of large numbers of rodents, which form a major threat to the lives of people, the spread of diseases, and increased the suffering

A lot of people attributed the reason for the large number of rats to the accumulation and spread of garbage on the roads, in addition to the ruins of destroyed homes by shelling and the delay of municipal authorities concerned to remove them, creating "fertile" environment for the spread of rats, in their own words.

Husseneia camp had witnessed acts of bombing by MIG planes which killed many victims and resulted in considerable damage in homes, as happened in the massacre that targeted civilians in 17/01/2013 after bombardment by aircrafts.  Violent fighting broke out between the regular army alongside the pro-regime groups and the armed opposition groups, before the regular army completely controlled the camp in 10/09/2013.
