Multiple sources reported to the AGPS many cases of kidnapping for ransom among Palestinian refugees in Syria, where those cases are concentrated among the children of well-known and well-off families in Syrian cities.
Sources confirmed that those responsible for those operations are often either close to the Syrian security services in the regime controlled areas, or affiliates of the Syrian opposition in the opposition areas, where the kidnappers bargaining the abductees' families on sums of money in exchange for their release.
Meanwhile, most families remain silent about the kidnap of their children for fear of their lives.
