At least 250 Palestinian families spread over Doma, Zamalka, Hazza, and Hamoureia areas are suffering from severe food shortages due to the siege imposed by the regular army on the eastern Ghouta since the beginning of September 2013.
Strict siege impacted those families negatively, while most of them have lost their sources of income because of the blockade and the war, according to our correspondent, most of these families do not get any assistance, and they eat only soup, and if they managed to buy one kilo of rice they eat it for several days.
Residents complain of not being able to get any relief aid provided by UNRWA, since snipers spread prevented their access to the headquarters of UNRWA" in the capital, Damascus, and from delivery of aid to the eastern Ghouta.
For their part, residents appealed through the AGPS all international bodies, especially UNRWA, official Palestinian bodies, the Palestinian embassy in Damascus, the PLO, and the Arab and European relief foundations to put an end to their suffering and to facilitate the delivery of urgent relief aid.
