The families of more than 1100 Palestinian detainees in the Syrian prisons suffer from absence of knowledge about the fate of their sons, where they were detained without mentioning their place, reasons of detention or any information about their health status.
This opened the door for the so-called detainees’ dealers and most of them are security officers in the Syrian Security Branches or closed to them, where they blackmailed the families of the detainees for getting information about the prisoners and the little information reached $2000 sometimes. Some Big Officers take about $10000 as a cost to release some detainees.
Families added that most of those "swindlers" who take money and providing false information about the detainees, or disagree with the families, and stop any way to communicate with them after taking money.
