The Palestinian university student Ahmad Mohamed Ali, a resident of Khan Al-Shih, was kidnapped on Monday, October 24, by the Syrian army patrols deployed at a checkpoint pitched in Jadidat Artouz town, in Damascus suburbs. Ali was kidnapped on his way back home, in the second such violation in less than two weeks. On October 13, 2016, university student Ahmad Heidar Ali was kidnapped by the Syrian forces at Al-Zayti checkpoint in Zakia town. The reasons for the move have remained mysterious.
According to AGPS data, 110 Palestinians sheltered in Khan Al-Shih are incarcerated in Syrian regime lock-ups.
