The Syrian regime battalions on Wednesday struck the UNRWA school in Khan Al-Sheih Camp with an elephant missile, resulting in heavy material loss. A couple of days earlier, UNRWA staff members evacuated the school for fear of having children killed in the unbroken onslaughts.
Three shells were also slammed by the regime squads on Khan Al-Sheih’s eastern and western neighborhoods.
UNRWA has often spoken out against offensives on its facilities and structures in the beleaguered Syrian territories. However little has been done by the agency to prosecute or even publically identify those responsible for such deadly onslaughts. A statement by UNRWA on September 30, 2016 slammed the “armed actors” for bombarding a school run by the agency in Khan Al-Sheih Camp a couple of days earlier, without naming the real abettors.
