Palestinian activists from the Yarmouk Camp and youth campaigners from Babila, in cooperation with Dr. Abu Omar, wrapped up a campaign in Palestinian schools and other southern Damascus schools to raise children’s health awareness.
Head of the Civil Surgical Hospital, Dr. Abu Omar, reportedly examined 1,000 schoolchildren, 40% among whom were diagnosed with lice and 15% with scabies.
The campaigners handed out soap and anti-lice shampoo to the children, along with drugs to treat skin rash inflicted by poor hygiene and contaminated water.
