Heavily-armed battalions from the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) have been deployed in and around the camp.
Recently, over 2,000 civilians and activists were forced out of the camp as part of an accord struck between the regime troops and the opposition outfits.
At the same time, a couple of days earlier, the Syrian government forces and their war partners struck the main entrance to the blockaded Yarmouk Camp, precisely the Al-Thalatheen Street, with a round of missiles, razing several civilian structures and homes to the ground.
Videos and live snapshots propagated on social media networks bear witness to the material damage inflicted by the offensive. Government fighters also figure as launching rockets and mortar shells from the rooftops of civilian homes.
The targeted area has been controlled by Fatah Al-Sham quads. ISIS militias have also tightened grip on the area, particularly on Al-Rija, Ein Ghazal, and Haifa Street, in Yarmouk.
The camp has been blockaded by the government army and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP)-General Command for 1,270 days running. Power and water supplies to the camp have also been cut off respectively for 1,329 and 790 days.
