In letters emailed to AGPS, Palestinian-Syrian families housed outside refugee camps in Sour (Tyre) city spoke out against the apathy maintained by relief institutions and charities in the region.
The refugees slammed the Lebanese government for infringing their rights as asylum seekers, saying they have been feeling insecure due to the reluctance maintained by the Lebanese authorities as regards their appeals to renew their visas. Several have been subjected to arrests on account that they overstayed their visas.
Displaced Palestinian refugees are not also entitled to job opportunities according to the regulations slapped by the Lebanese government.
Nearly 1,000 displaced Palestinian families are seeking refuge in the southern Lebanese city of Sour, among 33,000 Palestinian-Syrian refugees taking shelter in Lebanon.
