Palestinians deported from Syria to Lebanon have sounded distress signals over the dire living conditions they have been made to endure in Al-Bekaa due to the wintry weather and the low atmospheric pressure rocking the region.
Over recent years, air depression, low altitudes, and torrential downpours destroyed refugees’ makeshift tents.
Palestinian-Syrian refugee Abu Mohamed, a former resident of Yarmouk who fled to Lebanon, raised concerns over the serious turn for the worse the refugees’ life is expected to take in the next few weeks due to the heavy rainfall and the freezing temperatures.
The situation has gone far worse in the area due to the acute shortage in financial resources and relief assistance in a territory where temperatures often reach 12 degrees below zero and ice covers civilian homes from the ground up.
Nearly 850 Palestinian families are taking refuge in Bekaa, fleeing war-tattered Syria.
