Palestinian Refugee Dies of Medical Neglect in Yarmouk Camp, Blockade Death Toll Hits 192

70-year-old Palestinian refugee Hussein Hussein Al-Misri, a resident of the blockaded Yarmouk Camp in southern Damascus and a native of the occupied Palestinian city of Nazareth, succumbed to a disease infecting his vulnerable body due to the lack of medical care and the acute shortage in life-saving medicines.

His death brings the number of Palestinian casualties killed by undernourishment and medical neglect in the blockaded Yarmouk Camp to 192.

The Syrian government troops and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP)-General Command (GC) have been cordoning off the camp for 1,276 days running, blocking civilians’ movement inside and out.

Meanwhile, power and water supplies to the shelter have been cut off respectively for 1,335 and 796 days.
