The number of Palestinians who died under torture in Syrian regime jails has gone up as high as 457. The death toll is expected to be much higher due to difficulties in the documentation process.
The Syrian government forces have remained reticent over the fate of 1,140 Palestinians incarcerated in penal complexes.
Difficulties in documentation also stem from the families’ reluctance to reveal the fate of their missing relatives for fear of retaliation.
