A couple of days ago, the government battalions struck the Fatah Al-Sham areas in Yarmouk Camp, at the same time as a rocket and heavy machinegun fire hit the adjacent Al-Tadhamun neighborhood just before midnight.
Sources from the camp and ISIS stronghold of the Al-Hajar Al-Aswad said tension has been running high in ISIS-controlled areas after Abu Zaid Al-Mali was appointed as the new emir (commander) in territories it controls in Yarmouk, dismissing Abu Hashem Al-Khabouri.
Yarmouk shelter has been blockaded by the Syrian government forces and their war abettors for 1,300 consecutive days. ISIS militias have also tightened grip on Al-Rija and Ein Al-Ghazal neighborhood in Yarmouk, blocking civilians’ movement inside and out.
