As they sought safer sanctuaries for their children, the Palestinians of Syria have been scattered all over Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Sudan, Thailand, Malaysia, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Britain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Brazil, Chile, Canada, among other destinations.
According to UNRWA’s latest figures, 140,000 Palestinians have fled the beleaguered Syrian territories in the hunt for safer shelters.
Thousands of refugees from Syria embarked on journeys fraught with much danger as they rummaged around for provisional covers. Hundreds breathed their last at sea onboard the “death boats” and others were announced dead on way to Europe via smuggled ships.
