The Syrian government forces struck the Deraa Camp for Palestinian refugees with heavy machinegun fire and artilleries, resulting in serious material damage.
The government troops further targeted the adjacent Al Sadd Road, housing Palestinian families, with a ground-to-ground missile, at the same time as Deraa Al Balad neighborhood had been struck by the Syrian fighter jets.
Tension has reached a zenith in Southern Syria and Deraa after the opposition outfits announced their intent to embark on a so-called “Operation Better Die than Be Humiliated” to grab hold of the strategic Al Menshiya quarter in Deraa, which oversees the city center and gives a panoramic view of the Brigade 32 base in northern Deraa along with the military police station and Hmeida Al Taher site.
